Genelite recently partnered to supply and install two heavy-duty diesel generators to support continuous power for a telecommunications system at a remote site in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, home to Australia’s largest coal reserve and one of the country’s most critical resource regions.
The generators are responsible for delivering reliable power to on-site telecom towers, which maintain internal communications across a large-scale communications operation. With limited access to grid power, these units are relied on to run continuously under load, making equipment reliability a key requirement.
Built for Power in Tough Conditions
The generators were selected for their ability to supply continuous power in harsh conditions, with minimal need for manual intervention. Each unit was delivered to site pre-tested, fuelled, and ready to run, with features including:
✅ Robust diesel engines suited to remote deployment
✅ 540L base fuel tank with extended 5.5-day runtime @ 75% load
✅ Inbuilt automatic load bank to prevent engine damage from low-load conditions
✅ Auto start and shutdown protection
✅ Weatherproof, silenced canopies
The two units were delivered along with an additional self-bunded fuel tank. Together, the system provides the performance and redundancy needed to keep telecom systems operating consistently, even during servicing or refuelling.
Reliable Power for Critical Systems
This deployment reflects Genelite’s capability in supporting remote infrastructure projects that require consistent, low-maintenance power solutions. From telecom sites and comms towers to mining, construction and utilities, we supply and support generators built to meet the demands of the environment they’re in.
